True to the principle of moving slowly we will start our tour just in front of the door in our home quarter of Flingern in Duesseldorf. From there, the first part of the route will take us back to Hardy’s roots: Romania.
We will go back the same way that he came to Germany with his parents in 1983, at that time still under the communist regime of Nikolai Chauchescou. Since then, he has rarely been in Romania again and only met his grandmother last summer after some 16 years. Now that she is a very old lady we want to see her before experiencing what else the world holds in store for us.
The second part of the tour will take part in Central and South America. Why we decided for exactly this continent? Having already travelled lots in European countries, in Asia, and at least in the Southern part of Africa, the South American continent will be a completely new world for us. And we always wanted to learn Spanish - now time has come and it definitely will be one of the multiple added values of the journey!
And the best comes last! The greatest challenge on the tour: the Andes…
